AN APPEAL TO MEMBERS OF CARDIFF FIRST

Please if you are a member of Cardiff First church read this appeal.

You have joined a church and in doing so you have showed your committment to your church.
Can I, as President, please ask you to show your committment a little bit more by supporting the sevices we hold each week.
The Sunday morning Divine service is in dire need of your support. All I am asking you to do if you are able, is to give the church your attention on Sunday morning for a couple of hours.
This morning we had a total of 4 people attend (they are regulars). If the other regulars attended each week we would have an average of 10 attending the service each Sunday morning. With the cost of electric and gas on the increase, not to mention the rising cost of expenses for visiting speakers we are not covering the expense of the church on the Sunday morning.
At the next committee I will be bringing a proposal to discontinue the Sunday morning service. This proposal I think is one that does not need a vote of members, all it requires is committee approval.

So come on, support your church by attending on Sunday Morming.

The last point I would like to make is it takes the dedication of certain people to open the church every Sunday, and I feel that they should see some support. They deserve it

I would be very sad indeed to hear that the Sunday Morning Service is to be discontinued. Whilst I understand the problem of costs, perhaps it could take a different format such as a Sunday Morning meditation Group/Sunday Morning Circle with meditation, prayers and readings and clairvoyance, sitting in a circle setting in the church. An agreed amount could be requested as a donation to cover costs. Perhaps a slightly more low profile style of service would attract a wider variety of people.
