Sunday evening`s service.

Someone said, `What was that? Was it a bird, was it a bee? No, said the chair that was Wayne Poo-ley.

Although he could not officially have known there would be children in the congregation Wayne started at medium pace with a poem of universal appeal about the colours falling out with each other. This was followed by a gentle trot through uplifting philosophy. There was just no warning of what was to come.
Then woosh Whipcrackaway he was off! I ask myself now if he was in trance with Peter O`Sullivan in the saddle whacking out the messages. It has to be said he nearly fell at Beecher`s Brook when I thought Tony Gleeson was going to appeal and ask for a re-run but he (Tony) managed to get his feet back in the stirrups and catch up with the messenger before dashing home to check on his father`s watch. The messages came thick and fast, very fast with the recipients clinging on for dear life to keep up. Impossible to make an assessment with people saying they had been hauled unwillingly towards the light and others plumpimg themselves down on beds and others watching people cleaning aeroplane windows. Speeding tickets were threatened along with smoking warnings and opticians` appointments. A large congregation received many messages cracked out with rapid fire delilvery. Anyone taking dictation from this man would throw in the towel. A good night was had by all as usual at Park Grove. Please come back again Wayne ------when we`ve got our breath back.....
