Who DID turn up to provide evidence and upliftment to the 22 people who attended the evening service.
Lots of humour and energy during the service made it a a very enjoyable eveing (Well I had a good time anyway!) Also I'd like to thank Tom and Bernard who were in fine voice with getting the vibration up to maximum volume.
ps Thanks also to Carol Ellis for her exemplary tea and coffee making skills. Phil we might have to turn the heating down as it was such a cosy atmosphere after the service we had to call last orders!

Maybe Carol made the tea because you never have
There is more behind my tea / coffee skills – it demonstrates my philosophy that we are all part of one large wheel.
A wheel is circular and demonstrates equality - that no person is more important than anybody else.
Equality means that no job is more or less important than any other job.
This philosophy is what makes a good working committee in our Spiritualist Churches.
It was Ghandi who demonstrated this philosophy – but I don’t know how good he was at making tea or coffee

Why is the Lord Prayer said at all at your church? Are prayers from other religions said or sung?
i.e. Is it a Christian Spiritualist Church?
I'm interested in coming along to a service that is NOT an extension of an established religion
We are not a Christian Spiritualist Church and have had many debates about the saying of the Lords prayer. We have been saying it since we opened the Church in Park Grove in 1926, and the members want it said.
I am happy that you want to come along and attend a service and you do not have to say any prayers you dont want to.
I believe that the songs from the hymn book come from many many religions, as I have gone to friends funeral services who are not Spiritualist and the same hymns have been sung.
We are not an extension of an established religion, we are a Spiritualist Church affiliated to the Spiritualists National Union. If you would like to come to a service, you can make yourself known to me, and maybe we could discuss it further.
